BUSINESS CLUB

Dear Sir, Madam

Doing business on the African continent is not easy. Large cultural differences, perception of business, language barriers, time lags, questionable legitimacy of business partners, and not infrequently even spatial constraints are the problems faced by all businessmen who have ever tried to penetrate the market of the future.

No one is waiting for anyone, the economic world spins faster and faster, and the competition is by no means resting.

If you are not directly present on the spot to taste and experience it yourself, it is very difficult to grasp the true conditions and the true picture. Things can be very serious in Africa and this should not be underestimated. The business culture is on a different level than, for example, in Europe. East Africa was an English colony, and West Africa was mostly French, with Belgians in between, as well as Germans and others. And all of them live a mark. That is why English is often the national language in the East and South, and French in the West and North, which is a great help in terms of communication.

Doing business in KENYA

Kenya and nearby countries are becoming the business center of East Africa. Air connections via JKIA – Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Kisumu International Airport are extremely good, and the sea port of Mombasa is an established point of arrival for goods in this part of Africa. The grouping of countries in the East African Community EAC: Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi, DR Congo (https://www.eac.int/) also suggests that countries are connecting together for economic reasons in order to facilitate the passage of people, goods and economic cooperation.

There are many business opportunities, as the economy is developing with bold steps and the need for goods, machines, services and, above all, knowledge is very great. Let me give you just a few examples of market niches that will expand in the coming years.

  • Production of prefabricated houses.
  • Production of passenger and cargo vehicles (legislation has already been established, which prohibits the import of certain types of vehicles and further favors own production).
  • Production of various types of work trailers, later also tourist-residential ones.
  • Production of various joineries like alu and plastic windows, doors.
  • Communal services for waste collection and recycling.
  • Technical inspections for cars and trucks.
  • Chains of rest stop and service activities along main roads for cars, trucks, buses.
  • Modern food production techniques: from various meats, fish to crops.
  • Establishment of extraction and production of important raw materials and minerals, which are abundant.
  • Quality transport and manipulation of goods and transport of people (urban and suburban transport).
  • Different digital solutions.
  • Wood processing industry.

With this, we have only touched on some of the most everyday areas that we have come across. Where are all the other areas: chemo pharmaceuticals, healthcare, mechanical engineering, high-tech products… and we could go on and on.
